Akshay Sharma is an assistant professor in the Industrial Design Department at Virginia Tech. He is passionate about using design as a catalyst for empowerment of women, especially in the developing regions .Currently he is working on projects related to microfinancing with an NGO in India, use of cell phones for creating a more efficient process maintaining immunization records in developing countries and working with jaipur foot organization to develop a foot measurement system. 

susan wyche

Susan Wyche is a Computing Innovation Fellow at Virginia Tech's Center for Human-Computer Interaction. Her research focuses on human-computer interaction for development (HCI4D), interaction design, and cultural studies of technology. Wyche received her Ph.D. in Human-Centered Computing from GaTech, her master's degree from Cornell University and her undergraduate degree in Industrial Design from Carnegie Mellon University.

Aditya Johri is an assistant professor in the Department of Engineering Education at Virginia Tech.
He received his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 2007.His research focuses on the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) for learning and knowledge sharing, with a focus on cognition in informal environments. He is also exploring the role of ICT in supporting distributed work among globally dispersed workers and in furthering social development in emerging economies.
